Embark on a captivating 4-day journey into Africa's largest game reserve, the Selous (now Nyerere National Park). Experience diverse wildlife through thrilling game drives, a serene boat safari on the Rufiji River, and optional guided walking adventures.
Fly from Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar to Selous (Mtemere Airstrip). Be greeted by your Katunzi guide and transferred to your chosen lodge/camp. After settling in, embark on an afternoon game drive to get your first taste of Selous' unique wilderness.
Dedicate the entire day to exploring the diverse landscapes of Nyerere National Park. Your experienced guide will help you track wildlife, including elephants, lions, wild dogs, giraffes, and numerous bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by nature.
Experience the park from a different perspective with a morning boat safari on the mighty Rufiji River. Observe hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife along the banks. In the afternoon, you can opt for an adventurous walking safari (extra cost, requires pre-booking) with an armed ranger or enjoy another game drive.
Enjoy a final early morning game drive (depending on your flight schedule). After breakfast, transfer back to the Mtemere Airstrip for your return flight to Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar, concluding your Selous safari.
